We are unique because we don’t only treat special needs. We give our kids love, we teach them why love is so important, and we receive love from them. We provide every value that our children need to feel confident, secure, accepted, and worthy. We ensure that when they are with us, they feel they can be whatever they want. We do not make them feel like they are in therapy; we want them to feel that they are enjoying time with a second family.

Purpose
Our primary purpose is to serve infants, children and teenagers with special needs. We do not believe in disabilities. Special needs can be named in different ways, but these can be anything that temporarily prevent kids from living and functioning the way they should in each stage of their lives. Our kids grow, develop and get the same opportunities as every other kid without being pushed or made feel less. Our service goes from love all the way to developing new skills.
Goals
An example of a personal goal can be to become independent with daily home activities such as shaving, brushing their teeth, or taking a shower. An example of a social goal can be to learn how to behave when they go to a restaurant. An educational goal can be to learn how to read and understand at the specific level of each kid. To make sure that these goals are accomplished, we even go to such places on group trips to experience the situations in real life.

I am a mom of a child with special needs. When you have a child with special needs, you are never prepared for it, and it is understandable to be shocked. It is unexpected, scary and it has to be handled, but it is the beginning of great things. Your attitude can help you through the initial crisis, or the same attitude can keep you lamenting. Therefore, you have to decide what route you are going to take.
I spent three months of my life debating and crying. You know what? That is ok. What is not ok is to stay mourning. After you work through it, you will stand up and start walking. You will not know where to, but little by little, you will find the right help and realize you are not walking alone. Everything is going to be new for you. Do not be scared. It is your attitude that will determine how far you are going to go.
If there is something I do know, it is that a challenge always brings you an opportunity and the resources to overcome it. Your determination to make things happen is the only thing you need to ensure your child achieves all their goals in life. As a therapist, I know early intervention will make a big difference in the child’s life. If you wait more time, there will be more to work on. If you start with early intervention, you can achieve more and make the process easier.
